Structural Building Works
2007 - 2009
The construction site for the Diagnostic Centre presented unique geotechnical challenges, as it was located on reclaimed land. To address this, the project mandated the execution of specialised deep foundations. AMCORP installed pile foundations up to 90 feet deep, ensuring the necessary structural stability and long-term durability of the building on the challenging strata.
The structure was designed by Mr Arif Changezi (NESPAK), requiring meticulous attention to both architectural and structural detail throughout the execution process. The rigorous quality control measures implemented by AMCORP ensured the structure met the stringent standards required for a major healthcare facility.
A notable feature of the Diagnostic Centre was its specialised exterior finish. The project involved intricate façade works utilising high-quality brickwork.
To execute this, the necessary bricks were carefully sourced from Lahore. Furthermore, specialised expert brick masons were specifically engaged from that region to ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship were applied to the exterior finish. The building was delivered to the highest workmanship standards, reflecting its significance and philanthropic vision.
The Diagnostic Centre holds particular national importance due to its function and high-profile inauguration. The facility was designed to support the mission of the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital.
The project was delivered between 2007 and 2009. Its completion and significance were recognised at the highest level: the centre was formally inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, underscoring the project's profound national importance. This successful delivery expanded AMCORP’s portfolio in essential healthcare and community-focused infrastructure projects.
